In an exciting new development, starting
this year DIAF will expand
beyond the Dashanzi Art District, to many new locations across Beijing:
East Pioneer Theatre, Chaoyang Cultural House "9 Theatre",
798 (Dashanzi) Art District, East End Art Zone, Jiuchang Art Factory,
Caochangdi Art District, 1 Art Base, Yonghe Art Museum.
For three weeks, from September 22nd to October 14th 2007, DIAF
and its new partner "Art Beijing" will jointly transform
Beijing into a platform for contemporary art.
This major evolution has been secured by the Thinking Hands group,
who chose to officially adopt the new name: "Dangdai International
Art Festival" (Dangdai meaning
"Contemporary" in Chinese). Thinking Hands group is the
registered owner of the logo D F ,,
the acronym DIAF , the names "Dashanzi
International Art Festival"
and "Dangdai International Art Festival" ,
as well as being the founding director of the DIAF .
DIAF 2007 and "Art Beijing"
will collaborate in an open way in order to put together Beijing's
contemporary art resources, especially those with support and adjustment
needs. During three weeks, from September 22nd to October 14th,
all Beijing will be spectacularly transformed into a platform for
contemporary art.
DIAF 2007 will also maintain its
original aims: creating a space for art exchanges and stimulating
the city to be opened to creative cultures and creative improvements.
