CREATIVE AFTERNOON
Game Programme
Curated by Mei Mei and Poplar Kid'S Republic

Following up on last year's success, Mei Mei and the Poplar Kid's Republic will once again arrange a series of events addressed at the youngest audience. The events will take place throughout the entire festival period and are divided into three stages: workshop, storytelling and education. Together, the events will activate the children and introduce them to the world of art and their cultural heritage in a fun and educating way.

Workshop
Under the professional guidance of Mei Mei, the children are encouraged to let their imagination run free and create their own artworks. The children get the chance to experiment with different kinds of artistic methods and media, learn to work together and respect each other's differences, and are encouraged to think in new and creative ways.

Storytelling
Mei Mei tells the children modern Chinese fairytales and folktales. The stories are accompanied by traditional Chinese folk music, played live on traditional instruments by talented, Chinese musicians. Thus, stories that relate to the children's everyday lives meet with music that relate to their cultural heritage, and modern and old are brought to synthesis.

Education
A Chinese and English speaking teacher will show the children around in the entire festival area, introduce them to the different artworks, installations and performances and teach them about art and culture in a pedagogical way.
