Since the beginning, the festival has always offered an important place to cinema and video. Therefore, an exciting and concentrated program is organised each year.

Thanks to the DIAF, art movies have been shown for the first time in China in a public setting!
Every year, various programs explore movies / videos of the international scene, from documentary films to artistic videos, through fictions, full length and short films.

China, France, Korea, Japan, Australia, the Scandinavian countries, North and South America, Great-BritainĄ­ all these countries have been represented via the program / have had their own little festival within the DIAF.

Galleries, art centres, spaces converted into projection rooms host films and videos and broadcast them to a large Chinese / international audience.

In 2007, the DIAF is growing; and its events will happen all around the city. Hence, various places across Beijing will be associated in this program; in addition to the Dashanzi district, the Chaoyang house of culture and some new institutions will be affiliated with the DIAF. A real cinematic journey will take place in Beijing in the autumn of 2007 !
