GAME IN PROGRESS - 24 HOURS OF CONTINUAL
CREATION
This program will be one of the acitivities in the opening ceremony
of DIAF2007. Groups of artists work on an installation that constantly
moves around a gallery space, that they build, dismantle and rebuild,
revealing processes from different aspects of the art world: art,
street cultures etc.
The art crew Rinpa (a group of graffiti/mural artists) engages
in constant action, painting and repainting so that many images
appear and evolve over 24 hours. Music spurs them on and the audience
can observe.
The Rinpa Eshidan "Rinpa" is a word created by the founders
of the group meaning "to bring people together, while "Eshidan"
essentially means "art crew." The Rinpa Eshidan is a team
of artists brought together by a common creative
expression.
"Instead of focusing on the finished project, we believe the
Process of creation itself is where art comes to life and our videos
aim to engageour audience in that process. "
